Dutch language critical survey compiled by various essays about the history and impact on 17th century dutch general public, by which the story is told of the unfortunate Sea Voyage by Skipper Bonetekoe and his V.O.C. merchant Nieu Hoorn, wrecked after an explosion of the Powderroom. Bontekoe, some cabin boys and crew survived and arrived at Batavia. Upon his return in Holland a published decided to publish a popular compilation after the original Log in 1646. It became a huge success during the d17th., 18th and 20th centuries. This compilation is expanded by information with deeper insight in its publishing history. Very fine copy.
